Rate of mortgage growth at lowest level in 22 years

The rate of mortgage growth in Ireland is now at its lowest level in 22 years, according to the latest statistics from the Central Bank.

The bank says the growth in mortgage lending last year was 5.8%, the lowest increase since 1986.
