GE Healthcare to shed 50 jobs in Cork
GE Healthcare has become the latest firm to announce job losses in Ireland due to the economic downturn.
The company says it plans to shed 50 jobs at its plant in Carrigtwohill in east Cork.
It says it is making the move to better meet customer demand.
GE Healthcare is a major international company in the field of medical imaging and information technologies, medical diagnostics, patient monitoring systems, drug discovery, and biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
It employs around 46,000 people in 100 countries, including several hundred at its Cork plant.
