SF calls for scrapping of Garda Reserve

Sinn Féin is calling for the Garda Reserve to be scrapped in order to save money.

The party says the part-time force costs €1.3m per year and this money could be better spent on community policing.

Sinn Féin TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh says community policing would have a greater effect on reducing crime than the Garda Reserve.
