Barnardos renews call for Children’s Rights referendum

Children's charity Barnardos is renewing its call for a Children's Rights referendum.

It follows the sentencing of a 40-year-old woman at Roscommon Circuit Court yesterday for incest, sexual abuse and neglect of her six children between 1998 and 2004.

Barnardos says the case raises serious questions about the role of the State's child protection services.
