The Taoiseach will today attend the 7th plenary meeting of the North South Ministerial Council in Derry.

The Taoiseach will today attend the 7th plenary meeting of the North South Ministerial Council in Derry.

It is the first plenary meeting of the Council since Brian Cowen and First Minister Peter Robinson took office.

Also in attendance will be deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness and Ministers from the Irish Government and Northern Executive.

Issues likely to arise include the economic situation and co-operation to develop the North West Gateway region in counties Donegal, Derry and Tyrone.
