Strike threat to Dublin hospitals

Dublin hospitals could be plunged into chaos after more than 9,000 health workers overwhelmingly voted in favour of strike action over cost-cutting plans, it was revealed tonight.

Trade union SIPTU said members in the Dublin health services branch voted 98% in favour of industrial action to protect jobs and conditions of employment.
