SVP: Govt must tackle causes of poverty in recession

The St Vincent de Paul insisted today that it would be ‘economically stupid’ for the Government not to tackle poverty as the recession takes hold.

It believes that addressing the causes of poverty now will save billions in the long-term, and will also strengthen society.
