Eircom network suffers 'extensive' storm damage

Telecoms provider eircom today said that the "very severe and dangerous" storm conditions over the weekend had extensively damaged the firm's network across the country.

The worst-affected areas include parts of Mayo and the western seaboard; Louth, South Kilkenny and Waterford, the company said in a statement.
