A man in his 20s has appeared before a special sitting of Kilkenny District Court charged in connection with the murder of a woman and the deaths of her two children.

Brian Hennessy, who has an address at Windgap in Co Kilkenny, is accused of the murder of 30-year-old Sharon Whelan last month.
