Man due in court over Kilkenny fire deaths

A man is to appear in court this evening charged in connection with the deaths of a Kilkenny woman and her two daughters on Christmas morning.

Thirty-year-old Sharon Whelan, seven-year-old Zsara and two-year-old Nadia were found dead in their beds at their rented farmhouse in Windgap, Co. Kilkenny.

Gardaí arrested a man on Thursday in connection with the incident.

He is to appear at a special sitting of Kilkenny District Court this evening.
