Union: 400 to be laid off at Limerick plant

SIPTU has said it expects up to 400 workers to be laid off at the RR Donnelly - formerly Banta - facility in Limerick as a direct result of Dell's decision to cease manufacturing at its nearby plant in Raheen.

SIPTU has said it expects up to 400 workers to be laid off at the RR Donnelly - formerly Banta - facility in Limerick as a direct result of Dell's decision to cease manufacturing at its nearby plant in Raheen.

Although the company has yet to make a formal announcement, the union says workers have been told that as contracts with Dell are phased out during the year, operations at RR Donnelly will also wind down.
