Intel is examining its worldwide operations in a bid to identify efficiencies and will be announcing cost cuts in the coming weeks, it has been confirmed.

Although the US computer giant says it has no immediate plans to lay off workers in Leixlip, Co Kildare, a spokesperson has refused to say if those cuts will include redundancies in Ireland at a later stage.
