Campaigners for gay rights in the North have welcomed a police decision to forward a file to the DPP on remarks made by DUP assembly member Iris Robinson.

Last June, Mrs Robinson, the wife of First Minister Peter Robinson, condemned an attack on a gay man in north Belfast.
