ICTU to outline proposals for tackling economic crisis

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) is due to outline its proposals today for addressing the economic downturn and the deterioration in the public finances.

Business groups and many politicians have been calling for cuts in public-sector pay and staffing levels as the main plank of any economic recovery plan.
