Wallace: 'Pork and bacon recall has been vindicated'
Junior Health Minister Mary Wallace says the Government's action in recalling pork and bacon products from shops during the recent contamination crisis has been vindicated.
Ms Wallace was speaking before the Oireachtas Agriculture Committee today as part of its investigation into the crisis.
The contamination scare has cost producers and processors millions of euros, but the minister says the cost could have been greater if strong action was not taken immediately.
