EU to look favourably on application for Dell funds
Irish MEPs say they are confident the EU will approve a multi-million euro package to help the Limerick region recover from the recent jobs blow at Dell.
The Government is expected to apply for money from the EU to help the region following the computer giant's decision to lay off 1,900 workers at its plant in Raheen.
Irish MEPs have been holding meetings in recent days with the EU Employment Commissioner.
They say he has given an undertaking to view the bid favourably and are urging the Government to make an application as soon as possible.
