Age Action: Carers' allowance must be exempt from cuts

Age Action is appealing to the Government to exempt the carers' allowance from possible cuts in social welfare payments.

Minister Mary Hanafin has warned that the allowance could be targeted by the new 'Bord Snip', as it attempts to recoup money to pump into the budget deficit.
