Amnesty calls on Govt to accept Guantanamo detainees

Amnesty International Ireland is to hold a demonstration in Dublin today to mark the seventh anniversary of the opening of Guantanamo Bay Detention Centre.

Amnesty International Ireland is to hold a demonstration in Dublin today to mark the seventh anniversary of the opening of Guantanamo Bay Detention Centre.

Volunteers from the human rights organisation will be dressed in orange jumpsuits to highlight some of the stress positions used to torture detainees.

Executive Director Colm O' Gorman has urged the Government to offer to accept exonerated detainees from the Cuban camp.
