Harney launches consultation process on organ donation

Health Minister Mary Harney is launching a public consultation process on the contentious issue of consent for organ donation.

A number of groups have been calling for the introduction of a "presumed consent" system whereby hospitals could automatically take a dead person's organs unless they have specifically requested otherwise.
