Cowen: Dell job losses 'a major challenge'
The Taoiseach has described job losses at Dell in Limerick as a major blow to the mid-west.
The computer giant announced this afternoon that it's cutting 1,900 jobs at its plant in Raheen and moving manufacturing to Poland.
Dell is Limerick's largest employer, and it's feared that thousands more jobs at other companies will be lost as a result.
In a statement this afternoon, Taoiseach Brian Cowen said all the state's resources would be mobilised to meet what he described as āa major challenge for regionā.
