A major supplier to the construction industry announced plans today to ignore the paralysis in the sector and make a £2m (€2.14m) investment in a new plant in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter.

CEMEX NI – a key supplier of cement and aggregate to builders – said it hoped its new Belfast plant would contribute to the lifting of the gloom which had taken hold over the construction supply industry over the past 18 months.
