Government urged to invest in teaching of maths

The Government is today being warned it will have to invest in maths proficiency to achieve its aim of creating a knowledge economy.

An expert working group on future skills needs has told the Government that proficiency in maths is vital as it underpins areas such as science, technology business and finance.
