Hundreds of anglers have descended on Co. Leitrim in an attempt to catch the first salmon of the New Year.

Hundreds of anglers have descended on Co. Leitrim in an attempt to catch the first salmon of the New Year.

They are at the Drowes River near Kinlough, where the first salmon of the year has been caught 25 times in the last three decades.
