Survey shows sharp drop in manufacturing sector

A new survey has shown that manufacturing jobs are being cut at record rates.

The latest Purchasing Managers Index from NCB Stockbrokers shows a considerable contraction in manufacturing output last month, with 32 per cent of businesses surveyed signalling job cuts in December.
