PSNI investigating sex assaults in Derry and Tyrone

Police in the North are investigating two serious sexual assaults in Co Derry and Co Tyrone over the weekend.

Yesterday afternoon, two girls aged 10 and 11 were walking along a footpath in Dungiven when a man approached them and assaulted them.

They managed to break free and ran away before the man caught up with one of them, but he released her when she screamed.

In Co Tyrone a 19-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at a cricket club in Sion Mills in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The PSNI is appealing for information about each of the attacks.
