Woman dies in Cavan crash

A 29-year-old woman has been killed in a road crash in Co. Cavan.

The woman was hit by a vehicle on the N3 between Virginia and Cavan at around 10am this morning.

She was brought to Cavan General Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.

A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and was being questioned at Cavan Garda Station.

Gardai in Bailieboro are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
