Former Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh and the former head of the Department of Finance Tom Considine have joined the board of Bank of Ireland.

Former Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh and the former head of the Department of Finance Tom Considine have joined the board of Bank of Ireland.

The two were on the panel of twelve public appointees who will sit on the boards of the six banks participating in the Government's guarantee scheme.

They will take up their positions as non-executive directors from January 1.
