Police appeal after teen stabbed in Belfast
Police in the North have appealed for information after a teenager was stabbed in the back.
The 17-year-old was attacked by a gang in Poleglass, west Belfast at 2am and was treated in hospital for a stab wound to the back.
Police have appealed to anyone with information about the attack to contact them.
SDLP councillor Brian Heading condemned the stabbing and called for an end to drink-fuelled festive violence.
He said: “In the mouth of Christmas a family which should be enjoying itself is faced with the horror of a stabbing.
“We have all got to help get a grip on drink-fuelled violence and not just leave it to the police to cope with all the horrors of what should be a happy festive season.”
