The chief executive of Anglo Irish Bank has tendered his resignation today due to the controversy over inappropriate loans given to the bank's chairman.

The chief executive of Anglo Irish Bank has tendered his resignation today due to the controversy over inappropriate loans given to the bank's chairman.

David Drumm has tendered his resignation following last night's news that chairman Sean Fitzpatrick has loans totalling €87m with the bank.
