An armed gang held up and robbed a van driver in Belfast today.

The man had been removing money from a car park kiosk when three to four masked men, one of whom had a gun, confronted him in Little Donegall Street at 8.30am.

They hijacked his white Ford Fiesta van, which police said contained a significant sum of cash.

The vehicle was found abandoned in the Foster Street area of the Shankill a short time later.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
