Sales of 'greener' vehicles up 100% since VRT changes

The Government agency that promotes sustainable energy says the decision to link Vehicle Registration Tax to emissions has led to a doubling in sales of 'greener' vehicles.

Sustainable Energy Ireland says 84% of cars bought since July were in the three best emission bands.

This is compared to 41% before the VRT changes were introduced.
