Simon Community services ‘operating at full capacity’
A leading homelessness charity is warning that its services are operating at full capacity.
The Simon Communities of Ireland says it urgently needs more support from the public, with homelessness likely to rise due to the recession.
The group is launching its annual review in Dundalk later today.
Meanwhile, a new long-term accommodation facility for homeless people in Dublin is being opened this morning.
Sundial house on James' Street has 26 units and an on-site nurse.
