Four detained following attempted robbery in Dublin
Four men are in custody this morning following an attempted robbery at a credit union in Rathfarnham, Dublin last night.
The gang used a 4 X 4 vehicle to ram the entrance of the credit union but failed to gain access.
The raiders then sped off in the vehicle which was found abandoned in the Orwell Park area a short time later.
Gardai are investigating reports that a number of shots were fired during the incident.
Two men were initially detained in the Churchtown area and two further arrests were made on the Dodder Road.
The suspects are being held separately at Terenure, Tallaght, Rathfarnham and Crumlin garda stations.
