Curran worried about cannabis use among children

Drugs Minister John Curran says he is very concerned about rising cannabis use among children in Ireland.

Mr Curran was responding to figures showing a 3.7% increase in cannabis use among Irish children between 2002 and 2006.

A separate report out today shows that more than one-fifth of people in Ireland have used cannabis at some stage in their lives.

It also says 16% of the cannabis used in Ireland is home-grown.
