China becomes latest country to ban Irish pork
China has become the latest country to ban all imports of pork from Ireland as a result of the dioxin contamination scare.
The Chinese authorities announced today that they were recalling all Irish pork products imported since September 1.
The country has imported around 2,000 tonnes since that date.
Irish pork is being withdrawn from shops across the world following confirmation on Saturday that pig feed provided by a leading supplier was contaminated with dioxins.
