Man held over £500,000 drug haul

One man was arrested after cannabis with a street value of £500,000 (€584,497) was seized, police in the North revealed today.

Police said the haul was made during an operation in south Belfast last night.

Drugs Squad officers seized 100 kilos (220lb) of the drug in a car on the Upper Lisburn Road and arrested a 26-year-old man.

Police said the man is being questioned at Musgrave Street station in the city.
