Report: Quinn to create 350 new jobs in Cork
Quinn Insurance is expected to announce a major jobs boost this week with up to 350 new positions being created at the company's office complex in Little Island, Cork.
In total, more than 600 employees will work at the new office in Little Island, which will be officially unveiled by Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise Mary Coughlan.
The news came as FBD, the insurance group, today announced it is to close 13 of its 47 branches in Ireland and introduce a voluntary redundancy programme to reduce staff numbers.
Quinn Insurance has not officially confirmed the Little Island jobs announcement, details of which will be revealed at a press conference on Thursday.
However, a company spokesman said there will be a “significant number of jobs announced by Minister Coughlan.”
Quinn Healthcare outlined plans to increase staff following its takeover of Bupa Healthcare in Fermoy in February 2007.
