The leader of the Labour Party Eamon Gilmore says stimulating the Irish economy is the key to getting the country out of the current economic crisis.

The leader of the Labour Party Eamon Gilmore says stimulating the Irish economy is the key to getting the country out of the current economic crisis.

Mr Gilmore was speaking last night to delegates at the party's conference in Kilkenny.

He said that Ireland's financial problems can be overcome through creative government intervention, using money from the Pension Reserve Fund as well as short-term borrowing.
