Dublin Metro still on track, says Railway Procurement Agency

Dublin's Metro is still on track despite the economic recession, according to the Railway Procurement Agency.

RPA Chief Executive Frank Allen said the Government had assured him that tighter state finances would not halt the project.

Initial digging work for the Metro is scheduled start next summer, with the main construction beginning in 2010.

Dublin's underground is expected to be up and running in six years' time.
