Newspapers set alight beneath Bertie Ahern's car

Gardaí are investigating an incident last night in which former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern's state car was damaged by fire.

Newspapers were set alight beneath the vehicle while it was parked outside the St Stephen's Green shopping centre in Dublin city just after 8pm.

Mr Ahern was attending a book launch at the time.

No major damage was caused to his car and he was later driven away in the vehicle.

Gardaí have described the incident as minor.
