University teachers back national pay deal

The Irish Federation of University Teachers has endorsed the new national pay agreement.

The IFUT has said the pay deal was the "best available" in the current circumstances.

However, the union warned that no one should interpret its decision as an acceptance of the education cuts and it would aim to overturn them as soon as the pay deal is resolved.
