Man dies in Monaghan road crash

A man has died in a serious crash in Co. Monaghan.

It happened on the N54 before lunchtime and An Garda Síochána say a lorry and a van were involved in the collision.

The van driver was killed while the lorry driver and his passenger have been taken to Cavan General Hospital where they're being treated for shock.

It is believed the deceased is from the North.

The road between Monaghan and Clones is closed from Smithborough and diversions are in place.
