TUI calls on Education Minister to reverse cutbacks

The Teachers' Union of Ireland is to meet the Minister for Education today to ask him to reverse planned cutbacks in education.

The Teachers' Union of Ireland is to meet the Minister for Education today to ask him to reverse planned cutbacks in education.

The union claims that plans to increase class sizes and cut funding for language support will hit disadvantaged families the hardest.

The TUI - which represents vocational and community schools - says teachers and parents will continue to protest against the moves until they are reconsidered.
