A man was being questioned tonight in connection with the suspicious death of his wife at their home.

A man was being questioned tonight in connection with the suspicious death of his wife at their home.

The 60-year-old was arrested after his wife, aged 57, died at the house in Willow Vale, Ballybrack, south Dublin.

A post mortem examination was being carried out at the city morgue tonight to establish how the woman died.

Gardaí found the woman, who has yet to be named, in a collapsed state after being called to a domestic disturbance at 7.30pm last night.

She was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was being questioned at Dun Laoghaire garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Garda forensic teams carried out a technical examination of the scene earlier today.

Gardaí at Cabinteely garda station are investigating.
