Around 7,000 people have attended the latest protest against Budget cut-backs in education.

7,000 turn out for Galway protest

Around 7,000 people have attended the latest protest against Budget cut-backs in education.

Teachers, parents and members of school boards of management took to the streets of Galway this afternoon to voice their opposition to the cuts.

They marched through Eyre Square to the Cathedral car park for a rally.

President of the Irish National Teachers Organisation, Declan Kelleher, reserved some of his most stinging criticism for the Green Party and its leader John Gormley.
