Controlled explosion carried out on suspicious device

A suspicious device has been found at a housing estate in west Dublin today.

The find was made at around midday in Palmerstown.

The army EOD team was called and the scene was cordoned off shortly afterwards.

A controlled explosion was carried out and the area was declared safe at around 2.30pm.

The device has been removed for further examination.
