Recycling waste crisis short-term: Gormley
The Minister for the Environment has claimed that problems with recycling in this country are only temporary.
The Irish Waste Management Association held a crisis meeting in Portlaoise, claiming that the recycling industry is in jeopardy.
The Association claimed there has been a sharp drop in profits as the price being offered for recycled materials on world markets has plummeted.
Minister John Gormley said he has set up an action group to find alternative markets for Irish recycled materials.
