100 jobs at risk at Flextronics plant in Limerick
There are fears today for the future of around 100 jobs at Flextronics in Limerick as the company seeks to lower its cost base.
The firm, which employs 290 people in the city, provides warehousing and logistics services for a large number of companies in the region, including computer giant Dell.
Talks between unions and management are ongoing, with a decision on the number of job losses expected to be announced next week.
Flextronics, which recently announced record second-quarter results, is making no comment on the issue.
SIPTU says its goal in the talks is to minimise job losses.
