The general president of the BATU trade union will tomorrow seek a High Court injunction aimed at preventing his suspension from office.

Mr Michael McNally (aged 69), Belgium Park, Monaghan, the general president of the Building and Allied Trades Union (BATU) for the last 14 years, is seeking an order from the court preventing a special meeting of the union's National Executive Council from moving a motion to suspend him from his position, from preventing him carrying out the role or from appointing anyone else to perform his duties.
