Hanafin confirms Christmas welfare bonus

The Minister for Social and Family Affairs has confirmed that welfare recipients will get their Christmas bonus this year.

Concerns had been expressed over the weekend that it would not be paid, in light of the cuts in the Budget.

Approximately 1.3 million welfare customers benefit from a double payment in December.
